You’re Making Bad Choices

She couldn’t make the decision for these other people.

Psalm 37:1-40

Reference: “Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.” Psalm‬ ‭37:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: A friend of mine was struggling with work. There were a number of staff she didn’t enjoy working with and she felt unsupported by management.

We had a good chat about it and it seemed she had been trying her best but these things still got under her skin. She wished this person would resign and that person would take more responsibility.

She was right. That would have made her job much more pleasant.

But the harsh reality was that she couldn’t make the decision for these other people. All she could do was decide how she was going act herself.

Application: Things often happen to us and around us but the best we can do is act with honesty and integrity.

The Bible gives us so many instructions on how to live but all the advice is on how we choose to act, not what others should be doing. We can’t make choices for other people, we just need to make the best choice for our own actions.

We can waste a lot of time thinking of what other people should do, but when it comes down to it we can only make our own choices. The best influence we can be on other people’s decisions is by showing them the good choices we are making.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for guiding us with Your word on the choices we should take. Help us to learn from the Bible and choose wisely. Amen.

What choices are you having to make today?
