God made us in such a way that He desired variety and colour in His world.
Reference: “I will sing a new song to you, my God; on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,” Psalm 144:9 NIV
Explore: We all have different strengths and abilities.
My friend has a wicked sense of humour, my husband has the ability to remember small details he reads, my neighbour is a whizz in the kitchen, my colleague is generous with his money…
Sometimes our differences can bring challenges amongst us, and so we curb the things that set us apart. However, God made us in such a way because He desired variety and colour in His world.
Application: In Psalm 144 I love how the writer says he will sing a new song to God on a 10-stringed lyre. Now, playing a 10-stringed lyre has never been my strong point, but that doesn’t mean I can’t sing a new song.
Each and every day we can sing a new song to God with the gifts and abilities He has given us. What is your strength?
Can you bake a new song for God today? Can you laugh a new song for God? Can you generously give a new song for God?
Your life is a song. What song is it singing to God today?
Prayer: Lord, may we not keep our worship to Sundays alone. May every part of my life be a song to You. Amen.
What song is your life singing to God today?
