You Inspire Me

There are times when we feel very ordinary and lacking in impact, but there are people who are inspired by us.

Judges 4:1-24

Reference: v.9 “Certainly I will go with you,” said Deborah. “But because of the course you are taking, the honor will not be yours, for the Lord will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh. (TNIV Bible)

Explore: I was looking through Facebook the other day and I noticed that a friend had tagged me in one of her lists.  The list was ‘People who inspire me’. I was so chuffed.  I am such an everyday, normal person, that I was so touched someone would feel that I inspired them.

Application: The more I read through the Bible, the more people I discover who are truly inspiring.  Just in this one chapter of Judges we have two women and one man who put themselves on the line for the greater good.  They all played their different roles, but each one of them is inspiring.  There are times when we feel very ordinary and lacking in impact, but there are people who are inspired by us.  They may not say it, they may not tag us in a Facebook list, but each one of us has the ability to inspire others through the way we live.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, you are the most inspiring of us all.  May we look to how you lived and aim to inspire others in the same way. Amen.

Who has inspired you?
