If The World Were 100 People

Our world is not equal or fair by any means

Galatians 3:23-29

Reference: There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28 NIV)

Explore: I recently saw an article online that outlined what the world would look like if our current ratios were reduced down to 100 people. To begin with, 50 would be female, 50 would be male.

Of these 100 people, “26 of these are children and only 8 people are aged 65 and older. 60 people are Asian, 15 African, 14 people are from the Americas and 11 individuals come from Europe.”

It is interesting to see the breakdown of our world, from language, literacy, and religion. The more confronting figure is that almost half of this group live on less than $2 US a day and 23 of the 100 don’t have shelter.

Our world is not equal or fair by any means. It’s so easy to look at our differences and compare ourselves to others.

Application: That’s why this verse in Galatians 3 is so powerful. Under Christ, we are all the same. No one is more powerful or more valuable, we are all one in Christ.

So when we come to dealing with people in our own lives, let’s not forget that through Christ’s eyes, He considers us all equal.

Prayer: Lord, I’m blessed that You would consider me equal to all the other amazing people in Your creation. Help me to see others as equal too, and not see myself as better than anyone else. Amen.

Who would you consider your equal in life?

In the meantime you can save the website to your homescreen and it works like an app. See http://lifehacker.com/5809338/add-web-site-bookmarks-to-your-iphones-homescreen for tips
