A great philosophy for many work situations.
Reference: “Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the Lord that one gets justice.” Proverbs 29:26 NIV
Explore: I was recently in a meeting at work. We were being instructed in how to use a new system.
As this brought in some new processes a number of us had quite a few questions. Those leading the meeting were patient in explaining the process and then answering any questions.
While the leaders had clearly spent a considerable amount of time on completing this new venture, they were open to questions and feedback on potential challenges.
At one point one of them said, “We’re not trying to prescribe common sense.”
This was brilliant. It was helpful to the new process and a great philosophy for many work situations.
Application: So often we look for answers or wisdom that leads to a solution but often what is required is really just some common sense.
The book of Proverbs is filled with much wisdom, and much of it is not rocket science. It is guidance that helps us to live a fulfilling life.
Let us not forget about the brain God filled our head with. May we use it to the best of our ability to live the life God has called us to.
Prayer: Lord, help me to find reason in my own mind. May I continue to be in tune with You so that Your wisdom and sense will prevail. Amen.
