Work Place Security

Explore: Last year my workplace moved buildings and so our security system changed. No longer did we just have a normal key system, but we were also given electronic fobs to release a secondary lock on the doors. These fobs are like swipe cards, however, they don’t have to be inserted, just waved in front of a special box at the door. Although many workplaces now have this type of security in place, I always feel a little special every time I use my fob in front of guests. It’s not the high tech device that makes me feel special, but that, with a simple swipe, I am able to access areas that others are not. They have to wait to be escorted into the workplace, whereas I just have to swipe my fob, and with a registered beep, the doors unlock and give me access to all areas.
Application: It’s sad that these simple things make me feel special, but the fob that allows me to get into work, is like Jesus who allows me to get into a relationship with God. Once I receive Jesus into my life, it’s like I have greater access to God. The more I get to know Jesus, the more of an understanding I have of my Creator, and it unlocks the potential within me and gives me a greater purpose. I may not be able to access all areas of God, but Jesus is certainly the key which allows me to connect with Him on a personal level.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, the sacrifice you made so that we could be closer to God is amazing. Thank you for being the key to unlock our faith so that we can have a greater purpose here on earth. Amen.

I’m like you Linda. I feel special every time I swipe my card to get into work. Because I work in the City, I have to use mine in the lift before I can even get to my floor. That’s how secure our building is!!!
