My friend felt that once I came face to face with God that He would have a lot of explaining to do
Reference: “He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”” John 9:25 NIV
Explore: “I don’t want to be standing in the line behind you at the rapture!”
This is a hilarious thing a friend of mine said to me recently. We were discussing our lives and how there were a whole lot of things in this world that we didn’t understand.
My friend felt that once I came face to face with God that He would have a lot of explaining to do, and she didn’t want to get held up behind me when entering heaven!!
Application: There is no doubt that there is much in our lives and in this world that we don’t understand. There are things that don’t make sense and even seem unfair and unjust.
We often ask God for explanation but the answer does not always come.
When Jesus healed a man born blind from his blindness on a Sabbath, the religious leaders were looking for a way to discredit Him. So they questioned the man, who was once blind, about Jesus.
Finally, when the man had been questioned and confronted over and over, he was asked if he thought that Jesus was a sinner. His response was glorious: “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!””
The man knew he didn’t have all the answers but he could speak of his personal experience. And that was one of total transformation.
May we have the faith of this man who was once blind. We may not know all the answers about God but we do experience Him.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, while we can never fully understand all there is to know about you we trust in Your unfailing love. Amen.
What is something about God that you still don’t fully understand?
