David looks back at his kingship and notices God's presence and power throughout
2 Samuel 22.25-51
Reference: v.30 With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.
Explore: David has written a song of praise to the Lord. In all of his journey as king he can look back and see that God was present with him. It's a bit like the poem 'Footprints': during the hard times, that was when God carried you.
Application: When we are actually in the midst of difficult times it's often hard to see through the haze of turmoil and emotion, however God promised that He would always be there, and He never breaks His promises. If we endure those hard times, knowing that God is with us each step of the way, then our faith will certainly be strengthened and our perspective through the storm clearer.
Prayer: Lord, You know that often during difficult times we turn away from You. But You are our strength and our deliverer. May we always rely on Your presence. Amen.
