What Are You Doing With Your Time?

She rarely sits idly and always has something to accomplish.

Micah 2:1-13

Reference: “Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning’s light they carry it out because it is in their power to do it.” ‭‭Micah‬ ‭2:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: I have a friend who always seems to marvel at how much I get done every day. She always jokes that I accomplish in one hour what she does in one whole day.

I must admit, I have had a very good role model in my mother. She rarely sits idly and always has something to accomplish.

However, I also realise that the hour I am working hard is the exact same hour my friend has. My hour doesn’t contain any extra seconds or minutes to assist me in accomplishing more.

We all have the ability to be productive, it’s just what we choose to do with the time we have been given.

Application: When the prophet Micah saw the rebellion of God’s people he made an interesting point: those who plot evil carry it out because they have the power to do so.

We all have power. We have the power to chose our activities.

Do we chose to do good? Or do we chose to do evil?

The choice is up to you. You have the power to determine your actions. How are you going to use the minutes of your day?

Prayer: Lord, You have given us incredible power through allowing us to chose what we do with our time. May we wake afresh each day ready to fulfil Your will in all we do. Amen.

How are you going to use the minutes of your day?
