A Christian radio station uses my blogs as a devotion for their listeners. They recently noticed that the blurb they use to describe me was out of date.
It had been written over five years ago as it said I had three foster children. Since that time I’ve had a foster grandchild as well as a child of my own.
It’s amazing how much had changed in that period of time. I’m not really one to reflect too much on the past but every now and again something happens to make me stop and think.
There are things I’m proud of and some I would do differently. Hindsight is 20/20 vision!
Finding out our young foster daughter was pregnant was one of the most difficult times I’ve experienced. But being a part of her son’s life is one of my greatest joys.
Finding out I was pregnant after 12 years of infertility was surprising to say the least. And having our son has been my greatest achievement to date.
But one thing I have known through all the ups and downs is that God has been there.
I haven’t always been able to hear His voice but I have a greater hope for the future knowing His grace covers me every single day.
The same can be true for you too. No matter what is going on in your life, God is right beside you.
Lord, make Yourself known to those who need You. May You draw close and comfort each of us in need. Amen.
What are some reflections you have of your last five years?
