The Sign of Love

Linda is currently on maternity leave. Here is one of her most popular posts from the Psalms.

Their love for their daughter has been incredible

Psalm 16:1-11

Reference: “because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭16:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: My friend’s daughter has gradually been losing her hearing. They have taken her to every specialist within their grasp and supported her through every diagnosis.

Their love for their daughter has been incredible as they even assisted her to move to a school that had greater support for those who are hearing impaired. But as I stood in church the other day I realised that their love for their daughter had gone even further.

My friend positioned herself in the front row so she could join in with the worship using sign language. She followed the sign language leader but I knew she had already committed hours to doing lessons so she could communicate with general conversation.

Her love for her daughter was tangible as she went out of her way to love, support and connect with her.

Application: As I read through the Psalms I see the same love displayed by God. While my friend’s daughter is blessed to have such a caring mother, we are all fortunate to have a God who loves us unconditionally.

He goes out of His way to connect with us and displays unconditional love and sacrifice so we can have a full life.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your love and commitment to us. May we share that love with others. Amen.

How have you experienced God’s unconditional love?
