It was when I visited Jane’s home that I noticed this dedication went far beyond Sunday morning

Explore: Jane was a lady from a previous congregation who was very faithful and dedicated to the church and the people in it. She was warm and welcoming and always made sure any visitors were made comfortable.
I really appreciated this about Jane and the more I got to know her, the more I noticed that she cared for everyone. On a Sunday she would move around the church greeting people while she made sure everything was set up and in place for the service.
It was when I visited Jane’s home that I noticed this dedication went far beyond Sunday morning.
In her bedroom she had a large piece of cardboard hanging on her wall. On it was listed everyone she was to pray for on a daily basis.
I could see that the cardboard had been added to and that names had continued to be added to the list as time had gone on. I got the strong impression that this list was not to express exclusion but so all on it were not forgotten.
Application: So often it is just the squeaky wheel who gets the attention but God has us all on His list and we are not forgotten.
Likewise, there are people in our lives who need care and concern but often get forgotten. 1 Timothy 2 reminds us to pray for everyone.
You may not have a physical list on the wall but find a way to consider the people in your life that need prayer and intercession.
Prayer: Take some time to pray for some people who don’t usually make it into your daily prayers.
