Tenth Avenue North

I don’t care where you’ve fallen or where you have been.
I’ll never forsake you, My love never ends.
It never ends.”

Jeremiah 8:1-22

Reference:  v.21  Since my people are crushed, I am crushed; I mourn, and horror grips me. (NIV Bible)

Explore:  Recently I have been listening to the band Tenth Avenue North .  I really love the lyrics of their songs and they help me put into words how I am feeling towards God.  The song ‘Times’ has particular struck a chord with me as I am reminded of how much God really loves me.  Some of the words are:

But I hear You say,
“My love is over. It’s underneath.
It’s inside. It’s in between.
The times you doubt Me, And when you can’t feel.
The times that you question, ‘Is this for real? ‘
The times that you’re broken.
The times that you mend.
The times you hate Me, the times that you bend.
My love is over, it’s underneath.
It’s inside, it’s in between.
The times that you’re healing, and when your heart breaks.
The times that you feel like you’ve fallen from grace.
The times you’re hurting.
The times that you heal.
The times you go hungry, and are tempted to steal.
In times of confusion, in chaos and pain.
I’m there in your sorrow, under the weight of your shame.
I’m there in your heart-ache.
I’m there through the storm.
My love I will keep you, by My power alone.
I don’t care where you’ve fallen or where you have been.
I’ll never forsake you, My love never ends.
It never ends.”

Application:  We can never fully understand how great God’s love is for us.  Even when the Israelites had rejected God and were following other idols, He didn’t leave them, He grieved for them.  He was even committed to continually sending prophets to them to help guide them back to Him.  No matter what we do nothing can separate us from the love of God.  Don’t turn away from Him, He’ll never leave you.  His love never ends.

Prayer:  Thank you for Your love, Lord.  Instead of rebelling against it, may we be open to being embraced by You.  Amen.

Is there a song that helps express your relationship with God?
