Tell Me About Yourself

Wow, who would want to hang out with me?!

John 6:5-15

Reference: ““Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”” ‭‭John‬ ‭6:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: If you asked me to describe myself I would be able to mention a few good qualities but I could probably take much more time telling you about my limitations.

I like to be in control of myself so knowing what is happening when and where is very important. I’m organised but particularly like things sorted my own way.

I can often manipulate people with kindness as a way of getting my own way. And I have to remind myself to be generous with my resources.

Wow, who would want to hang out with me?!

While I am quick to notice my weaknesses, I do have to acknowledge I also have some strengths. This has been confirmed by the jobs I have been offered and bosses who are sad to see me leave when the time comes.

Application: It’s amazing how Jesus can take the simple gifts we have and make them into something worthwhile.

It’s like when Jesus fed the 5,000. He used just five loaves and two fishes to make a significant meal for thousands.

He does the same with us. He doesn’t look at what is lacking, He looks at what we have in our hands and has the ability to multiply it beyond our understanding.

All we have to do is offer Him what we have.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, we offer You the small gifts in our hands. May we continue to give back to You every day so You will have Your way in our lives in miraculous ways. Amen.

What do you have to offer back to Jesus today?
