Summer Holiday

The challenge now is being able to wait for the next two months until we head off.

Ephesians 1:15-23

Reference:  v.18a I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you (TNIV Bible)

Explore:  My mother has offered to take our family on a holiday over Summer.  Not wanting to do anything by halves, my mum has booked flights and accommodation at a resort on a Pacific island.  We are all so excited.  The challenge now is being able to wait for the next two months until we head off.  But it's really nice to know, when the daily humdrum of life starts getting me down, that I have something wonderful to look forward to.  If life starts looking bleak I just have to remind myself of what is to come.

Application:  I have great hopes for our future holiday however I know full well that the holiday will come and go and then I will have to find something else to look forward to.  My faith on the other hand has a constant hope.  It doesn't come and go with the seasons, it is always and forever.  As soon as we believe in Jesus we learn of the hope we have in Him, the One who sacrificed Himself so that we may have the best life in relationship with God.  That is a hope that never dies, never fades and can never be taken away from us.

Prayer:  May our hope be in You, Lord.  Amen.

What do you often put your hope in?
