Strength In Weakness

No one knows your weaknesses greater than you do.  That is, no one but God.

2 Corinthians 12.1-10

Reference: v.9  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (NIV Bible)

Explore: I am what some people would called ‘soft’, ‘sooky-sooky-la-la’, ‘a scaredy cat’.  I’m not being self-depreciating; I’m just stating fact.  I’ve never been a risk taker.  I’ve always stood on the safe side of life and I just never had the desire to push the boundaries.  As a kid I hated rollercoaster rides, I never went too fast on my bike and I always obeyed the school rules.  I always looked up to people who were brave, courageous and lived-on-the-edge but that only confirmed how much I was not like them.

Application:  No one knows your weaknesses greater than you do.  That is, no one but God.  It’s amazing how God knows where we have failed, where we have gone wrong, how selfish and hesitant we can be, and yet He still continues to draw close to us.  The King of Kings, the Creator of the Universe, the Beginning and the End; He knows us completely and yet He still loves us.  That is grace!  And no matter what we’ve done, no matter how badly we have stuffed things up we can hear his voice say, “My grace is sufficient for you, no matter what you do or how scared you are My power is made perfect in your weakness.”  Now that is a God I can follow.

Prayer:  Lord, so often I think I have to do it all in my own strength.  Thank you for reminding me that Your grace, Your love and Your power is all I ever need.  Amen.

What are the weaknesses you see in your life?  In what way can God make His power perfect through you?
