Explore: I was recently chatting to a friend who had experienced the loss of her mother a couple of years ago. This was an incredibly sad time in her life, and one that brought many raw emotions.

For the funeral she went out and bought a dress especially for this one occasion. While the dress was absolutely gorgeous, she struggled to wear it again after the funeral.

Because it had been bought for this specific ceremony it held with it many emotions and memories of a challenging time. While the material was no different to any other dress she had in her wardrobe, this particular dress held so much more meaning than anything else she owned.

Application: All outfits vary in price and value, but there are some that represent greater emotional value.

While the garments that were made for the Israelite priests were made from the best materials they were also made for a holy reason. What greater reason to wear a garment than to worship and honour God.

We may not wear robes and priestly garments, but we can certainly cloth ourselves with the desire to worship and honour God. We don’t have to wait until our Sunday church services, but each and every day we can clothe ourselves with integrity, love, grace and perseverance as we live to worship God.

Prayer: Lord God, no matter what we wear may we give you the glory that you deserve. Amen.
