Someone New
I was looking forward to getting to know her more.

Explore: When I started a new job I was shown around the whole office, introduced to all the other employees. Everyone seemed friendly, but there was one person who really stood out.
She was helpful and engaging and could join in on a good joke. I was looking forward to getting to know her more.
As the months went along, the friendship grew. And what I discovered was quite surprising.
Not only was my new friend friendly and witty, but she had a really strong faith. I could see her connection with God was lived out everyday and she had a wealth of relatable knowledge to share.
Application: People aren’t always what they seem. From first impressions we tend to put people in a box and limit them to a stereotype.
People did the same with Jesus and, in fact, still do. They think He is only one way or the other.
And yet, Jesus constantly surprised people with who He really was.
To some He brought peace; others division. To some He brought grace; to others challenge.
No matter what your view of Jesus is, you can be assured it is far greater than the box we put Him in.
Prayer: Dear Lord, forgive me for limiting You to my own understanding. Amen.
