Nothing is better than seeing it for yourself.
Reference: As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the Lord Almighty, in the city of our God: God makes her secure forever. (Psalm 48:8 NIV)
Explore: I had heard some great stories about Hawaii. Friends had holidayed there and came back raving of the beautiful climate, the gorgeous beaches and the easy shopping.
When we planned our own trip there I was excited but still a little hesitant. How good could it really be?
Well, I was not disappointed! As soon as we touched down in Maui I was in love with the place. One week was not long enough!
We saw lots of great sites and took in the atmosphere and have returned home only to start dreaming of our return.
It was great to hear about my friend’s amazing holiday, but it was even better to go and see it for myself!
Application: Likewise, we hear a great deal of who God is and what He does. We can read it from the Bible, hear about it in the media, and even listen from other believers. But nothing is better than seeing it for ourselves.
If you haven’t seen God move lately, how close are you to Him? He’s not a stationary God. He places Himself where we can find Him and He desires to be seen by us.
Our faith is not built by stories we hear from others but by our own experience. Don’t live your relationship with God through others but search Him out for yourself so you can truly see Him.
Prayer: Lord, we want to see You. We hear great things. May we experience You moving in our lives today. Amen.
Where have you seen God?
