Explore: Last Easter our family hired a holiday house and we spent the long weekend away together. The day before Good Friday we drove around the town looking for a church service that we could all attend. We soon discovered that no one in the town provided a Good Friday service but that all the services would be held on the Easter Sunday. As we had always grown up with going to church on Good Friday, and it had been quite some time since we had all worshipped together as a family, we decided to hold our own little service in our holiday house. We sang some songs, shared our thoughts on Good Friday and said a prayer. The service was short and simple but very meaningful to us as a family as it was one of the last times we all joined in worship together before my father passed away.
Application: The great thing about worshipping God is that it doesn’t matter where you are or what building you are in, you can still connect with God. The Israelites had left the comforts of living in a city and were living in a nomadic way in the desert. And yet God told them they were to still carry out their religious celebrations. It’s the same for us each day of the week. We may have a different routine on different days but we are still able to worship God no matter where we are. We don’t have to wait for the ideal location or the perfect time, any time we connect with our Creator can bring peace and meaning.
Prayer: Lord, we are so blessed that our worship is not bound to a place or a time. May we acknowledge You in our everyday and look to worship You in everyway. Amen.
How can you add moments of worship into your every day?
