Photo Wall

I love having photos around the house. My husband is very clever and has set up a number of screens in our house that scroll through all our photos when they are on their standby mode. It’s great to be reminded of times that are past as well as see recent events.

I do have a photo wall in my home though. I created it quite a few years ago. It has photos of my dad who has passed away, as well as young children who have now grown up. I really love it.

However, it’s currently very outdated. There are friends on the wall that I rarely see any more and our youngest who hasn’t even made it to the wall yet! My mission this holiday season is to update the wall.

The time consuming part is not printing out the photos or swapping over the frames, it’s sorting through all the photo files and trying to choose which photos to use. There are some important events I’d like to add to the wall – my mother’s 70th, my brother in law’s wedding, my sister’s wedding and the birth of our son. Clearly these events are top of the list.

But there are so many everyday things that have happened, and we’ve caught on film, that I love. Swimming at the beach, a special drawing, birthday parties, big smiles. One wall just couldn’t hold all my special memories.

It’s good to be reminded of the everyday events, as well as the big significant occasions. It reminds me that God is not just a part of the special moments but every moment of every day as well. He sees us when we’re happy, sad, angry, confused, bored… He sees everything.

How blessed we are to have a God who loves us so much that He is a part of our everything.

Lord, we love having you in our lives. May we notice you in the big occasions as well as the small moments. Amen.

When have you noticed God recently?
