You could always tell when someone was struggling with their reception because they all did the same dance.
Reference: “Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days.” Hosea 3:5 NIV
Explore: In the times before mobile reception was so extensive there were areas where your phone connection would falter.
You could always tell when someone was struggling with their reception because they all did the same dance. It goes like this:
A couple of steps to the right, a few steps forward, raise your phone and your hand up high, look up to the sky, and then sway to the left.
It wouldn’t matter what you looked like, you would just keep trying to move in such a way that you could connect back into your phone reception.
Application: Thankfully, we don’t have to look silly to connect back into God’s reception. He is constant but there are times when we move our lives into areas that are away from Him.
We may not notice it straight away, but our lives become fuzzy and we struggle to hear the right way to go. When we realise our disconnect with God we need to go out of our way to connect with Him again.
God hasn’t gone anywhere, it is us who have moved. May we acknowledge our shift and keep working to staying in tune with Him.
Prayer: Lord, forgive us when we move from You. There is none like You, and yet, we are drawn away by other flirtations. Thank You for being the rock we can always come back to. Amen.
