Passing On Advice

When you get some good advice it’s good to be able to pass it on.

Joshua 23:1-16

Reference: ““Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left.” Joshua‬ ‭23:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: When looking after some young boys in our care, one of them got sick and was feeling very poorly. To keep him hydrated I bought some lemonade for him to sip.

This was very special as we rarely had soft drink and we certainly didn’t drink it all the time. When his face actually lit up upon seeing this special drink, it reminded me of how I felt when I was sick as a child.

My mother never allowed us to have soft drink… Unless we were unwell. Then we were allowed to sip lemonade as much as we wanted. And this kept us hydrated even when we didn’t feel like eating anything.

When you get some good advice it’s good to be able to pass it on.

Application: When Joshua started his leadership of God’s people, the Lord gave him some great advice: be strong and courageous. When his leadership journey was coming to an end he gave the same advice to those he was leaving behind: be very strong.

As Joshua went through his life he must have seen the value in God’s advice, so he passed it on.

The Bible is full of incredible advice that people of faith are passing onto us. Heed the advice of God as it can change your life and give you purpose and wholeness.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for caring for us so much that You want the best for us. May we heed Your advice and openly pass it onto others. Amen.

What Godly advice do you have to pass on?
