God is not bound to just the church.
Reference: And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. (Luke 2:8 NIV)
Explore: I love church. But I also love that God is not bound to just the church.
One of my greatest spiritual moments was at the top of a hill on a nature walk. The best prayer I’ve ever prayed was when I was outside jogging.
The best evangelism moment was at my desk at work. And the best worship moment was when I was driving along in my car.
God loves the church too. But the way He connects with us is not bound by its four walls.
Application: Reading through Luke 2, I realised the shepherds heard the greatest news the world has ever heard while they were at work! They weren’t in their best clothes and neatly sitting in a pew at church. They were outside, doing their job.
We don’t have to separate our work and our faith. Our belief in God is part of every single area of our lives.
God is ready to connect with us at home, at work, on the bus, in a cafe, at the gym, in the supermarket… It doesn’t matter where we are, let’s remember that it’s where God is too.
Prayer: Lord, I’m glad we don’t have to separate our faith from the rest of our lives. May we strive, not only receive You at any time, but to be willing to share Your love with others at any time too. Amen.
Where do you experience God’s presence strongly?
