One Brick At A Time

We currently have a section of our house where a brick layer is laying bricks. When he first arrived I was surprised that it was just him.

We have had a number of trades in our house recently and there are usually a number of people on site. But this is just one brick layer and his cement mixer.

At first I thought he was going to take forever. But it’s incredible to see how quickly the whole wall is forming.

I’ll see the state of the house at the start of the day and when I arrive back later in the day it’s remarkable to see the change that has taken place.

This is true in areas outside of brick laying too. If we are consistent with small amounts over an extended period of time we can make some significant progress.

In our relationships, in our worship, in our study, in our work… they all benefit from disciplined faithfulness. We may not feel like we’re progressing quickly but it’s amazing how high you can go when you consistently place one brick at a time.

Lord, You are faithful in Your love to us. May we dedicate a small amount each and every day to You. Amen.

What do you need to do more consistently and faithfully?
