He’d done seven jobs in the last three years.

Explore: George and I used to attend the same church. When he first arrived I went out of my way to get to know him.
It didn’t take long for us to get around to the topic of our vocation. He kind of smirked and mentioned that he’d done seven jobs in the last three years.
While he seemed to think this was a feather in his cap, I thought it was more a black mark against his name. I wondered what had happened at all those jobs that had lead to him leaving so many times.
After a short while George left our church to try another church down the street. He felt that it catered more for what he wanted at the time.
It was clear George was not one to stick around.
Application: Life can be tough and sometimes we feel the best thing would be to just give up. But that’s not always the best option.
Particularly when it comes to our faith.
The Psalmist often wrote of times of trials but they came back to the understanding that God was good and we can trust in Him. It can be the same for us.
We may not have the most perfect life, but we can believe that God is good and we can trust in Him.
Prayer: Lord, you have stuck by us through thick and thin. May we do the same to You. Amen.
When have you found commitment challenging?
