A friend of mine woke up this week with bad sinuses. She knew that the beginning of feeling sick could flavour her whole day.
So she said to herself, “I’m not going to be sick, I’m going to be awesome.”
When she told me about her self talk I was so impressed. And challenged. So often how I feel when I wake up can impact my whole day.
God tells us that His glory is new every morning. If that is the case then our perspective can be new every day as well.
We have more control over our thoughts than we give ourselves credit for. Our culture tries to tell us it’s all about our feelings – do whatever feels good.
But that is not the message that leads to wisdom and discernment. It’s from our knowledge of God that we can make decisions.
Lord, thank you that your love, your grace and your peace is new every morning for me to receive. May I acknowledge that today, receive it and live like I know it. Amen.
What are you going to tell yourself for today?
