New Couples
Everything seems to be delightful because they are in each other’s presence!

Explore: I love watching new couples. They’re so excited and impressed by every little thing the other person does.
It doesn’t matter if they’re taking a walk in the park or just washing their car, everything seems to be delightful because they are in each other’s presence!
While a new couple can be cute, a couple who have been together for 50 years and yet still admire each other is something that is truly amazing. They know each other so completely, and yet they’re still committed to bringing out the best in each other.
That is a pure delight to watch.
Application: While I’m not sure if my husband and I will get to 50 years of marriage, we’ve certainly been through a lot in the last 14! But I’m thankful to say we still enjoy being in each other’s presence.
Just as a loving couple enjoy each other, God delights in you too. It doesn’t matter if you’re married or single, young or old, rich or poor… God delights in you!
How amazing is it to think that the Creator of the Universe, the One who came up with the idea of a sunset and a dolphin and a rose, would bother Himself to think upon us? And not just notice us in passing, but truly delight in us.
There are many days when I do not feel delightful. I don’t want people to come near me let alone take great notice of me. But God draws near and delights in us.
May we be filled with admiration for our God who knows us intimately, yet still delights in us. Not because we are perfect but because, when all else fails, we strive to be more like Him.
Prayer: Lord, You instil confidence in me with Your attention. May I be worthy of Your delight, no matter what my day may hold. Amen.
