Never Content

We are always looking for something greater.

2 Corinthians 5:1-21

Reference: v.4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

Explore: I am never completely satisfied. I am always looking to be wiser, kinder and more creative.

Whenever I look back at something I have done, I critique it. There are always areas where I could be better and smarter.

Whenever I look forward to something I would like to do, I desire something great. There are always areas in my life that I would like to improve and fulfil.

I don’t think I’m alone. We are never content with our lives. We are always looking for something greater.

Application: I think this is because we were made for something greater. We were created to live in a perfect world but our current place is far from that.

Whenever we see something less than perfect we desire change. It is a burden we live with, but it is a blessing too.

Because we are not content with our current position we strive for better. As long as we are yearning to advance in good things then our lives will continue to improve.

We need to strive for relationships, love, peace, justice, mercy. We will never reach completion here on earth, but we can certainly see glimpses of God’s divinity along the way.

Prayer: God, may I always strive to be more like You. Amen.

What area of your life are you striving to improve?
