Explore: I love when you meet someone new and you hit on their favourite topic. I recently met someone who loved cricket.
After 10 minutes I realised the topic had not moved, and I really didn’t have much to offer. But it seemed that I didn’t need to offer anything except a listening ear. I heard about top players – both present and past – current scores and what the future of the sport looked like.
When someone is on a roll with their favourite topic all you need to do is smile and nod!
Application: In Psalm 19 the writer hits on what seems to be two of his favourite topics – the sky and God’s law. And the writing is stunning.
The writer expresses admiration and love of God through both the creation of the sky as well as the law He has given. Through his writing my appreciation for God has been enhanced and my mind expanded as to where we can experience God’s wonder.
What is your favourite topic? How can you experience God’s wonder through it?
God is through all and in all things. Expand the view of others by sharing the wonder of God through your favourite things.
Prayer: Lord, You have created all things. We can see You in everything. May we proclaim Your wonder in all we love. Amen.
How can you experience God’s wonder through your favourite thing?
