Moving Houses

When everything changes, You remain.

Psalm 48:1-14

Reference: “For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭48:14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: In the 15 years my husband and I have been married we’ve lived in six houses. Each house has had its pros and cons as nothing is perfect.

Even in our current house there are things I’d like to change. At one point we wondered whether we should move again to suit our family’s needs.

For now, we’ve decided to stay. But I know when we get older we will probably find our property is too much work and we will need to move again.

Even though our houses are a significant part of our lives, they will change as time goes on.

Application: Much of our lives move and change but God stays the same. There is something very comforting about having God as a constant in my life.

No matter where I live, who I’m with, what I do, God is always there. He is our God forever and ever.

This gives me great assurance in my future. It means that when life changes beyond my control, there is still the One who remains the same.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the constant hope You bring to my life. When everything changes, You remain. Amen.

What changes are you experiencing in your life?
