Mother of the Year

Psalm‬ ‭130:3

I spoke to three people who had interacted with the boys that day

Psalm 130:1-8

Reference: “If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭130:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: Our boys had a particularly bad week last week. Every choice they seemed to make was a bad one.

When I went to pick them up from school (from the principal’s office!) I spoke to three people who had interacted with the boys that day. Each of them had a different story of bad behaviour for our boys.

After enduring every story I actually lost count of what happened at what time by which child! Let’s just say I won’t be getting Mother of the Year this year!!

Application: I wonder if God ever feels this way with us. He sees us making poor choices time and time again. Unfortunately for God, He has the ability to recollect them all!

However, the grace He displays when He wipes our slate clean is a great reminder of how I need to respond to our children. Consequences are still important, but forgiveness and grace must be the final response.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for not keeping a record of all my wrongs. May I look to others with the same love. Amen.

Is there someone in your life who needs the slate cleaned?
