Just as I’m about to tell him it’s not out, I’ll look up at the sky and notice it up there.
Reference: “the moon and stars to govern the night; His love endures forever.” Psalm 136:9 NIV
Explore: Our nearly two year old is starting to speak. While we thought he would never move on from the word “bus” and “no” we’re now hearing lots of words.
One of his favourite things is “moon”. If we’re ever outside in the evening or driving at night he will shout out, “Moon!” Just as I’m about to tell him it’s not out, I’ll look up at the sky and notice it up there.
He can spot it every time!
Application: With our own little moon radar, I rarely go an evening without seeing the moon. It really is a glorious part of creation in its ever-changing shape.
It’s nice to be reminded to stop and look at God’s creation.
The Bible is a good reminder for me too. Just as our two year old declares what he has seen so, too, does the Bible point to more wonders about God.
Psalm 136 is a fabulous reminder of how God expresses His love – through His faithfulness, His creation, His redemption, and His power.
Need to be reminded of God’s goodness? Read the Bible.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for giving us constant reminders of Your goodness, even when it’s coming from the mouth of babes! May I never forget Your love that endures forever. Amen.
What is the most recent reminder you’ve received about God?
