Michael Peck, the Artist

When I witness such artistic talent like Michael’s, it reminds me how creative our Creator must really be.

Explore: Michael Peck is one of the most talented artists I have ever met. While our paths crossed a few years ago, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching his career and artistry from afar.

He currently has an exhibition entitled The Landing based on children exploring some old remnants from a war. His realistic depiction of children interacting with objects in black and white is astounding.

Some of my favourite pieces of his artwork are those involving birds. Michael’s detail is exceptional and his ability to put so many ideas into one piece of art is brilliant.

Application: When I witness such artistic talent like Michael’s, it reminds me how creative our Creator must really be. When the Israelites were instructed in the design of the Ark of the Covenant, God had already given specific people the gifts to make it happen.

Now, you may be more like me than Michael, and struggle to express yourself in many of the arts. However, this verse, and Michael’s talent, is a reminder to us all that we have different gifts. No one gift is greater than another, we are all given different gifts to use and to build God’s Kingdom with.

Don’t be put off by someone’s greater talent, but work hard in using your gift to the best of your ability.

Prayer: Lord, your creation is outstanding. Thank you for blessing each of us with gifts. May we truly use them to bring honour and glory to Your name. Amen.
