Message Of Change

There are times when God sends unsuspecting messengers into our life

Jonah 3:1-10

Reference: “When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust.” Jonah‬ ‭3:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: When catching up with a friend we started talking about finances. She was open and honest with the challenges she was having with her budget and we were discussing her options.

As I drove home from our meeting I was convicted in the money I had been spending lately. This conversation had connected the dots on a number of thoughts I’d been having and solidified some decisions I needed to make.

My friend has no idea the impact this conversation had on my own dealing with finances.

Application: There are times when God sends unsuspecting messengers into our lives. But if we are open to hearing God’s voice then we open ourselves to some positive change in our lives.

When Jonah was finally open to hear God’s message for the people of Nineveh he was able to make a huge impact.

When the king of Nineveh was willing to hear Jonah’s message, he not only changed his own life but the lives of all his people.

Thankfully, God gives us many chances to hear His voice. Don’t waste your time looking for another message when the best voice to hear is always from God.

Prayer: Lord, speak to me now. My heart is open to Your message. Amen.

What message has God revealed to you recently?
