Meeting Celebrities

My mate had the opportunity to chat to a number of different TV stars

Job 33:1-33

Reference: v.6 I am the same as you in God’s sight; I too am a piece of clay. (TNIV Bible)

Explore: A friend of mine recently went to a Channel 7 media party in Melbourne.  Each of the guests were ushered into a private function area where they could eat, drink and network away.  My mate had the opportunity to chat to a number of different TV stars who were there that night.  His reflections were quite interesting.  Some of the celebrities were really friendly, chatting about their lives and having rather deep conversations.  However my mate found some of them were quite snobby.  It was like their status had gone to their head and they thought they were too important to speak to anyone they deemed below them.

Application: I think we have all met someone at some stage in our lives that thinks they are better than everyone else.  It may have been a student at school, a person at work or someone with some notoriety.  However when we look to God we are reminded that we are all equal.  We are all made in the image of God and we are all His children.  When you look to our powerful, almighty God even the most famous person seems so small.  It is important for us to have this perspective every now and again as we often fall into the trap of thinking of ourselves as better than others.

Prayer: Lord, forgive me when I put myself above other people.  May I be reminded that we were all made equally and You love us all the same.  Amen.

Do you treat everyone equally?
