She was always the one who had to organise get togethers
Reference: “When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”” Exodus 3:4 NIV
Explore: My daughter was recently confiding in me about a friendship with one of her girlfriends. She really enjoyed this friend’s company, but she realised she was always the one who had to organise get togethers.
If it wasn’t for my daughter’s persistence in messaging and calling this friend she wondered if they would keep in contact at all.
I’ve been in similar relationships. While these people are great, they don’t seem to value the friendship in the same way.
Application: We can often treat God the same way. We know He’s always there for us but we really only touch base when we need something.
If we were to call out to God but hear nothing in return we struggle to love Him. But how many times has God called out to us, only for us to ignore Him?
When God appeared to Moses in a burning bush He waited for Moses to respond. When he “drew near” that is when God spoke to him.
God may have something to tell you too. Are you walking past His burning bush or are you willing to draw near?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for always being there when I need You. May I always be there for You too, so when You have a message for me I am ready to hear. Amen.
Are you walking past your burning bush?
