This all seems quite clear
Reference: Out of respect for Christ, be courteously reverent to one another. (Ephesians 5:21 MSG)
Explore: There are some very obvious notes printed on certain products.
“May contain nuts” is printed on peanut butter!
At one swimming pool they warned “Do not breathe under the water.”
There’s a sign on a second storey building, positioned on the sliding glass door saying, “Caution. Please be aware that the balcony is not on ground level.”
This all seems quite clear, but there has clearly been an incident where someone didn’t realise the obvious, to lead people to print such signs.
Application: It’s easy to laugh at others but do you know that God writes the same sort of signs for us?
All through the Bible there are verses (signs) where God tells us the obvious. Love one another, revere your spouse, do unto others as you would like them to do to you.
Statements that seem so obvious and yet God needs to constantly remind us. And for good reason.
Time and time again we forget the simple guidelines that God gives us to lead a Christlike life. And so we need reminding.
Thankfully, He has had trusty servants to write it down for us. Now it’s up to us to keep reading it and reminding ourselves of how to live.
Prayer: Lord, sorry for forgetting the obvious. May we live in love and service to others. Amen.
How well are you remembering how you should live?
