Explore: The Lion King is such an incredible movie. It was one of the first children’s movies that was just as entertaining to adults as it was for the young people it was intended for.
The animations were innovative, the comedic characters were hilarious and the songs were brilliant. But it was the story line that captured the hearts of the audience.
A powerful father who sacrificed his own life for the life of his child. His death was unjust but he never hesitated to stand in the dangerous place for his son.
Application: To watch such love expressed through a film touched the hearts of millions of people. Let’s be honest, we all desire someone to love us that much.
Whether we care to acknowledge it or not, God loves each of us this much. Not only did He sacrifice Himself for us, but He continues to go out of His way to show us this love.
Whenever we are feeling left out, forgotten or unloved, think upon Christ. He loved us from the very beginning and His love for us is renewed each and every day.
Prayer: Lord, Your love truly is beyond our understanding. May we lean into that love You have for us and, in turn, share it with others who long to experience that kind of love too. Amen.
