My Life As A Movie

As Linda is on leave over the Christmas Season, here is one of her top rating posts for you to enjoy.

I build feelings for the characters, I’m swept away by the adventure and then I’m relieved that all has ended well

Luke 1:46-56

Reference: He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. (‭Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭52‬ NIV)

Explore: I love watching movies, I get so caught up in the storyline. And yet, so many of them follow the same plot line:

Connect with key characters, tragedy occurs, problem resolved.

Depending on the genre you can add in a car chase or a romantic interest along the way!

Most movies are fairly predictable, but they suck me in anyway. I build feelings for the characters, I’m swept away by the adventure and then I’m relieved all has ended well.

Application: Maybe that’s why I enjoy reading the Bible so much too. I’m able to identify so easily to the characters, I worry for their experiences and rejoice when God intervenes for good.

Each story is different, but the common thread is the same. If you keep Christ at the heart of all you do, God will prevail.

It’s not a movie, it continues to happen in lives every single day. Let’s not wish for a movie star lifestyle, but a life which God can live and breathe in every single day.

Prayer: Lord, the stories that have gone before me are not always easy. Help me to strive for a Godly life rather than an easy life. Amen.

What story is God writing into your life?
