The game of Lego is a never ending process that can keep changing and growing.
Reference: And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. (Ephesians 2:22 NIV)
Explore: My son has just recently got into Lego. He started out by sticking very closely to the instructions, but he is much more free with his constructions now.
I can see how the play could go on forever. He starts with building a Lego car (as they are most important) but then works his way around to houses and police stations and stairways.
While he can play with Lego longer than any other toy, he has never used up the whole box of Lego pieces. The game of Lego is a never ending process that can keep changing and growing.
Application: In a similar way God is building our lives. No matter how old you are, or how developed you are in your spirituality, we are all still in the process of being built.
I love how Ephesians says we are “being built”. It means the journey is forever ongoing. While we are here on earth we will never get to a state of completion, but there is always more growing to be done so that we can be more like Christ.
May we not be disheartened by this never ending task, but be open to God’s moulding of our lives for the better.
Prayer: Lord, there is still so much we can do and accomplish in our lives. May we not resist Your Creator hands but be open to Your perfect construction. Amen.
How is your life still being built?
