I Know What You Like

One of her gifts is to read people.

Ezekiel 39:1-29

Reference: When I have brought them back from the nations and have gathered them from the countries of their enemies, I will be proved holy through them in the sight of many nations. (Ezekiel 39:27 NIV)

Explore: I’ve been watching a TV drama series set in a legal firm. One of the legal secretaries is so brilliant that you get the impression she’s more valuable than some of the lawyers.

One of her gifts is to read people. Just by observing someone for a couple of minutes she is able to tell what many of their preferences are.

It’s a great gift to have in her line of work and also leads to some humorous interactions.

Application: We give away a great deal about ourselves without even noticing. Very quickly, even to those who are not so astute, we reveal our characters and our values.

God knows how transparent we are and that’s why He’s always encouraging us, through the Word, to be mindful of our actions. Jesus himself said they can tell you are My disciples by your love. Our actions give us away.

God used His people, in Ezekiel 39, to declare what type of god He was, and He can do the same through us. If we are committed to living out God’s values and character then people will see God through us.

Prayer: Lord, use me. May I be open to Your moulding so I can shine Your light to those who see me. Amen.

How can you be a vessel of God today?
