Our toddler is mad for the kids show Paw Patrol. The premise of the animated show is that a young boy, Ryder, leads a group of dogs who all use their different skills to help out their community.
Whether there’s a van stuck on an iced up lake or a cat up a tree, Ryder and his pups are never far away. In each episode Ryder will say the show’s catch phrase, “If ever you’re in trouble, just yelp for help!”
Not surprisingly, Ryder and his talking puppy helpers are always able to solve the problem. Using their rescue vehicles and their willing attitudes they always get the job done.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a Paw Patrol ready to help you at any turn?
Forgotten to write your essay? Just yelp for help!
Run out of petrol? Just yelp for help!
Having an argument with your partner? Just yelp for help!
Unfortunately, Ryder and his gang don’t extend to real life (although don’t tell my toddler that!)
And it may sound very trite, but I feel like God has the same catch phrase: If ever you’re in trouble, just yelp for help!
God may not use rescue vehicles or solve our problem exactly how we would have it fixed, but He is always there to listen to our concerns. No job is too big for God. No concern is too small for His attention.
Let’s not struggle through on our own but yelp for help when we need our God.
What would you like God’s help with?
