Jesus Brings Change

What started out as a place filled with dirt, smells and darkness is soon presented with gold, incense and myrrh.

Matthew 2:1-23

Explore: When Jesus comes into our lives He can bring a beauty that we never thought could exist.

Think of the place where Jesus was born. It would have been dirty, smelly and dark. There were not many places that would have been worse to have a baby. And yet, that is how Jesus entered the world.

However, as soon as Jesus was born that stable changed. By the time Jesus was only a couple of hours old, the stable had become a place of worship and comfort for the outcast (shepherds).

And the worship does not finish there. What started out as a place filled with dirt, smells and darkness is soon presented with gold, incense and myrrh.

When Jesus turns up He can completely transform a situation.

Application: This is the same when it comes to our lives. We may feel like we are dirty, that our lives stink, and we can’t see our way forward. However, Jesus brings life, grace and love into our situation.

Jesus is able to bring us grace that covers all our wrongdoing, love that is all encompassing, and a hope that gives us a purpose for the future. No matter what our lives look like currently, a greater relationship with Jesus will always bring a brighter future.

Prayer: Sovereign Lord, thank you for changing our lives for the better. May we use this life to bring glory to you. Amen.
