It’s Out There

I’ve had the pleasure of marvelling at its beauty

Psalm 8:1-9

Reference: When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, (Psalm 8:3 NIV)

Explore: We’ve recently had a full moon and, as I drive to work when it’s still dark, I’ve had the pleasure of marvelling at its beauty. It hung so low in the sky that it lit the road before me and I could not take my eyes off it.

A few days later I was driving home down a tree lined street. The sun suddenly came out from behind a cloud and streaks of light shone through the trees. It changed my surroundings into a magical pathway and I couldn’t help but smile as I felt the sun rays fall across my face.

I’ve stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon and I’ve swam in the Great Barrier Reef, but these two recent encounters reminded me that God’s glory can be witnessed every day.

Application: The psalms are a great place to be reminded of the greatness of God. His creation shouts His praise even when we forget to honour Him.

Look around you. Where can you see God’s glorious creation?

In the busyness of life we can often pass His majesty by so quickly. Let’s stop for a moment to acknowledge His creativity and praise Him for making our world so beautiful.

Prayer: Lord, there is no one more creative than You. Thank You for expressing Your beauty through us. May we open our eyes to the wonder Your hand has made. Amen.

Where can you notice God’s amazing creation?
