You can image how many photos I saw of cathedrals, castles and colosseums!
Reference: Glorious things are said of you, city of God: (Psalm 87:3 NIV)
Explore: I don’t do a great deal of travel during holiday time but it seems a lot of my Facebook friends do. I may not see them face-to-face but I certainly see all their holiday snaps up online.
Recently a friend travelled around Europe. You can imagine how many photos I saw of cathedrals, castles and colosseums!
Don’t get me wrong, the photos were amazing. But nothing can beat the incredible impact a glorious structure can have on you when you are standing in i’s very presence.
There are certainly some sensational buildings in our world.
Application: Buildings are constructed for many different reasons but many of the beautiful structures still standing were made for worship. The very construction was an act of adoration to God.
I appreciate the time and effort artists put into these places of worship, but I also like how anything can be a church these days.
It may be a warehouse, a cinema or even a cafe. No matter what the structure, it is the action going on within the building that makes it a place of worship.
Let us not be restrained to one particular place to worship God. May all the world hold the possibility of being our church.
Prayer: Lord, You opened our eyes so we could spend any moment in worship of You. May we not wait until we are in a specific building to proclaim Your name. Amen.
Where do you like to worship the most?
