Hairdresser Courage

They always make me feel more glamorous than I really am!

Luke 8:16-21

Reference: “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. (‭Luke‬ ‭8‬:‭16‬ NIV)

Explore: I’m not really a girly-girl but I do love getting my hair done. I can never dry my hair as well as a hairdresser and they always make me feel more glamorous than I really am!

I like to schedule my hair appointments around special occasions. If I’m going to get my hair done I like to be seeing my friends or going out for dinner that night.

What’s the point of having fabulous hair if no one can see it?!

Application: When something is special to you, you are happy to let others see it. I must say, I’m not so keen to be seen by everyone when I’ve got a big pimple on my face!

It is clear what is important to someone because they will show it off and talk about it regularly. The question is, are we this proud of our faith?

People who are passionate about their faith regularly talk about their spiritual experiences, they’re not ashamed of their Christian friends and openly discuss their religious activities. I still have a little way to go to shine my faith light this brightly.

Prayer: Lord, forgive my hesitancy to declare my faith. May I see every moment as an opportunity to proclaim Your name. Amen.

How brightly is your faith shining?
