It is so handy to be able to access my diarized reminders wherever I am
Reference: v.39 You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the Lord, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by chasing after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes. (TNIV Bible)
Explore: I live off Google Calendar. I have so many different things to schedule throughout the day that I need to write them all down so I don’t forget. A year ago I went paperless and started using Google Calendar on my computer and phone. It is so handy to be able to access my diarized reminders wherever I am. Due to this accessibility my life runs a lot smoother.
Application: I put a high priority on keeping up to date with the contents of my diary however I’m not as good as reminding myself of the wisdom in the Bible. My diary tells me what I am doing but the Bible is able to give me advice in how I am to it all. The Israelites had tassels that they hung from their clothing so that they would always be reminded of what God had commanded them to do. Now-a-days people wear wrist bands with the acronym WWJD. I guess it doesn’t matter how we go about reminding ourselves, it’s just important that we do remember.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the Bible. Thank you for the advanced technology that means we can carry it around with us in our phones, computers and in our bags. But Lord, may we carry it around in our hearts so that we live it out in every part of our day. Amen.
If we have to remind ourselves of our activities for the day, how many times should we remind ourselves of God’s wisdom for us?
