Go It Alone

This was no way to live.

Psalm 55:1-23

Reference: I would flee far away and stay in the desert; (Psalm 55:7 NIV)

Explore: I was tired and my ‘To Do’ list was getting longer instead of diminishing. Family life was busy and just thinking of getting out of bed was exhausting.

All I could think of was curling up in a ball and sleeping forever. I would drag myself through the day, living for when it would end, just to wake up to do it all again. This was no way to live.

Application: Life can be tough sometimes. We all need our escapisms but when that’s all we live for, we need to reassess our lives.

It’s important to take control of our lives, but also to hand our stress over to God. I’ve heard someone say that being stressed is displaying a lack of faith.

I find this statement a little harsh, but there are too many times when I try to do life on my own. God doesn’t want us to go it alone. In fact, He sent His Son to earth so we could understand how close He really wants to be to us.

Life will still get crazy at times but let’s not go it alone.

Prayer: Lord, draw close to me. Let me know that You are near. Amen.

How close are you to God?
