Gifts Beneath the Tree

There is nothing more exciting than seeing a Christmas tree with lots of gifts beneath it. They are all beautifully wrapped and all in different shapes and sizes.

Due to prying hands, my parents would only put their Christmas gifts under the tree on Christmas Eve. As soon as they were out we would scurry to the floor to find the gift with our name on it.

If your name was on a gift it meant the present was for you and only for you. It was going to be your delight to open it to discover what was inside.

On the very first Christmas God gave the ultimate gift. The thing about this gift is that He was not wrapped in Christmas paper, but only in swaddling cloth and instead of being placed under a tree, he was placed in a manger. But the great thing about this gift is that He had everyone’s name on Him.

He wasn’t a gift just for one person, or even just for the people living at that time. Jesus is a gift of love and grace that is offered to every single person. He even has your name on Him, it’s just up to you whether you want to accept this incredible gift.
